The Plant Runner Story

What started as a humble idea on wheels has blossomed into a thriving global community of plant lovers. The Plant Runner began its journey in Melbourne, where two horticulturalist mates decided it would be fun to convert an old 1963 International Harvester Horse Float into a plant shop on wheels. It was a simple yet transformative concept— two mates selling indoor plants at markets around the city.  

Fast forward to today, and what began as a mobile plant shop has grown into a trusted name in plant care worldwide. With our passion for nurturing plants and empowering plant lovers, we’ve evolved from selling plants to focus on providing expert plant care products used and loved by enthusiasts across the globe.

From Truck to Global Movement 

In our early days, the co-founders, armed with horticultural expertise and a deep love for greenery, had one goal—to make plant care less intimidating, more enjoyable and to contribute to the beauty of your space. They set out with a truck packed full of stunning plants and expert advice, turning plant care into an experience rather than a chore. Rolling through Melbourne, they helped Aussies build their own indoor jungles, one plant at a time. 

Today, The Plant Runner is no longer confined to a truck. We’ve grown into a global movement, inspiring plant lovers everywhere to embrace the joy of greenery. From beginners learning how to keep their first ficus alive to experienced collectors building lush indoor oases, our vision remains the same: To provide plant care products that deliver exceptional performance and elegant design, enhancing home beauty while reflecting sustainability, quality, and care for the planet.  With business locations based in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia plus export distribution partners in multiple countries and hundreds of wholesale partners across the globe we are on a mission to enhance the beauty, health and happiness within our customers homes, whilst we continue to provide the quality plant products that will enable them to love their plants back in the process.
